Reversible Baby Bib - Learn how to sew or brush up on your skills and make a pretty little bib for a new born baby. We will show you some basic patchwork techniques including using bias binding and how to use a sewing machine.

It’s so cute you won’t want them to use it at feeding time!

Make a Tote Bag - Come and learn to sew or brush up on your rusty skills and make a useful and stylish tote bag from our range of fabulous fabrics. We will teach you all the basics; how to position cut and pin your fabric, how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin and sew in straight lines.

All materials are provided including tea and cakes. We will even give you the pattern and instructions to take home and practice.

Make a baby blanket - Bored of the beige and tired of the twee? Come to this workshop and make a fleecy blanket and bib for the new arrival using our contemporary fabrics. Practical, beautiful  and made with love – what baby could ask for more?! We will teach you all the basics of machine sewing from threading the needle to sewing in straight lines.

All materials are provided including tea and cake.

Make a childs dress - Come and learn how to make a cute childs dress. Ideal for girls from 6 months to 6 years. This course will assume you have a basic knowledge and had some recent practice so ideally you will have previously attended our cushion or tote bag workshop.

The course will take place over two sessions. The cost is £75 for two 3 hour sessions. Please check the calendar or email us for more details.

Make a cushion - Is your sofa looking tired and unloved? Come to our cushion workshop and we will show you the delights of making your own cushions using fabric, pompoms and ric rac. We will teach the basics of machine sewing from threading the needle to sewing in straight lines.

Make a snap purse - Fun, pretty and oh so useful. If you are fed up with scrambling round the bottom of your bag for your loose change or lippy then this is the workshop for you. Over the course of two hours we will show you how to make a simple lined purse or sunglasses case using a snap frame. Basic machine sewing techniques will be taught and all materials will be provided including tea and cake.

Make simple curtains - You have found the fabric of your dreams, blown the budget and gone for it only to realise you have no money left to get them made. Worry not! Here at Make & Do we intend to solve that problem for you by showing you how to make simple lined curtains. We will teach you the basic principles using a metre of fabric – then take home your new found knowledge and sew those curtains.

Hire our sewing machines - Alternatively come and use our sewing machines here at Make & Do for only £5 an hour.
